H&M Re-opening

Walking on Yonge Street on my way home yesterday, I found myself in the middle of a nicely dressed crowd on Dundas square standing on a red carpet at the very front of Eaton Centre's H&M store. People have been waiting there in the long line and checking their names on the list with the guys at the door in order to get in. Too bad I didn't have my camera (shame on me) as it has been quite an impressive scene.

Eager to know what's going on I asked one of the girls from the red carpet what's the line for...and she told me it's about the new reopening of the H&M store....and that everything comes with a 25% discount at the official unveiling night.

"Interesting...and tempting" - I thought, but it was way too late to even try to get my name on that mile long guest list. So I left the scene and continued my downtown walk home. Later I found out that besides the discount, the guests have been also enjoying some fabulous food and drinks with the beats of DJ Gregory.
Stylish, indeed.

Printed skirts for summer!

This spring/summer printed skirts are the “must have” for your wardrobe.
There were all over the runways! The skirts come in a variety of different colours, shapes, and graphic prints to satisfy all the various personality types.

The thing I love most? They are perfect for any age, and can be both dressed down or be made to look more evening or professional. Want the skirts to look more age appropriate? Add a beautiful blouse to the mix and/or a sleek blazer.

I recommend wearing them with pumps (as it will lengthen the leg), but if you’re needing comfort, some great wedges, or even flats
will certainly do the trick!

Items that make you to look thinner

It's spring time again when layers of clothes come off leaving less options for covering up certain imperfections on women's bodies, but that doesn't mean that there are no options left to playwith.
Here's a short list of useful tips for looking thinner by combining the right items. The basic rule is that no matter how IN a certain style appears to be this spring...if it doesn't fit your figure...stay away from it and stick to some well-known-never-out-of-style items, such as:

Fitted blazer: it gives your upper body structured look
The right bra: the right fit and size contributes to the natural and proportional look of the figure
Nude hills: they keep the line of sight up to the ground so legs look longer
Waist-Chinchin belt: putting accent on the smallest body part will make the rest of the figure feminnine
V - Neck top: it puts the line of sight down and opens the most feminnine part of women's body
Pointed toe stilettos: elongate the leg and sculpts ankles and calves
Straight leg jeans: the right fit make the legs look longer
Structured bag: its geometry adds to the overall slimming effect of the figure
Cocktail ring: it appears big on a hand and makes it look smaller
Pencil skirt: animates the visual perception of the hips volume

The Stylish + Cool Professional

Recently I attended the Teenflo fall/winter 2010 preview. I have always enjoyed what Teenflo does for business attire, for the young professional woman. They are good quality staples, that are on-trend classics. You will have these pieces for a long time, or at least until you wear them out due to over usage, which is exactly what I usually end up doing with mine! As I was reminded of what a great line Teenflo is at the fall preview (which by the way, looks fab!), I thought I would show a little love and support before fall/winter by introducing S+C readers to the spring/summer collection, in stores right now. The above images are a few of my favorite looks from Teenflo....

Antique Gems

Having a serious love for statement jewelry always leads to constant browsing both online and in fabulous boutiques. The thing I love about these type of accessories is the inspiration from the designer can be drawn from almost anywhere. Having said that, statement pieces can be something that are either light on your wallet - or a serious investment.

I fell in love when stumbling upon these amazing antique earrings from Oscar De La Renta - a designer known for exquisite taste and elegance. Once again, my love for vintage took over.

While I'm not always a fan of statement earrings - these are seriously drool worthy. So versatile, that you can pair them with a simple t-shirt, and blazer or something more sophisticated such as an evening dress.

What do you think?

Spring Staple

Thankfully, the weather so far this spring has been completely blissful. Instead of warming up gently after winter, this spring has decided to skip this step and go straight for the heat - amazing.

In the spirit of relishing this beautiful weekend we're having, I thought I'd share a fabulous spring/summer dress by Shoshanna from Shop Bop that will certainly go the distance in your wardrobe.

This is the kind of dress that you can dress up or down - simply pair it with some flats or flip-flops for a more casual look, or dress it up with some statement jewelery (i.e. fabulous bangles and a big necklace) and some pumps. You can even alter the look by adding a white blouse and tying it at the waist. Delish.

It's vibrant splash of colour I love - the coral is amazing.

What do you think?
